This Privacy Policy explains what information Pallas Games collects when you play our games or visit our website, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We try to collect as little as we can, and only what we need to run and improve our games.
1. Who we are
Our games and this website are operated by [Legal company name] (“Pallas Games”, “we”, “us”), registered at [Registered address, country]. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
For any privacy question or request, email privacy@pallas.games.
2. What this policy covers
This policy applies to:
- our mobile games on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and any other games we publish (together, the “Games”);
- our website at pallas.games (the “Site”); and
- our mailing list, community channels and player support.
If a particular game handles data differently, its store listing or in-game privacy screen will say so, and that notice applies in addition to this policy.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email address, if you join our mailing list or sign up for playtests.
- Support messages: what you send when you contact us, such as your email, your player ID and a description of the problem.
- [Only if your games have accounts:] Account information, such as a username and the email or sign-in method you choose (for example Sign in with Apple or Google).
Information collected automatically when you play
- Device information: device model, operating system and version, language, time zone and app version.
- Identifiers: a random player ID generated by the game and, where permitted, your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android). On iOS we only access the IDFA if you allow tracking through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- Gameplay data: progress, levels reached, session length, in-game settings and in-game events, used to save your progress and understand how the game is played.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and performance data.
- Approximate location derived from your IP address (country or region level only). We do not collect precise GPS location.
Purchases
In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your card or payment details. We receive a transaction record (such as the item bought, price, currency and a receipt ID) so we can deliver your purchase and prevent fraud.
Information from platforms
If you connect Game Center or Google Play Games, we receive your public player ID and display name from that service to support leaderboards, achievements and cloud saves.
Our website
Our Site does not use advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability.
4. How we use information
- To run the Games: saving progress, syncing across devices and delivering purchases.
- To fix bugs, prevent crashes and keep the Games performing well.
- To understand how players use the Games so we can improve design and balance.
- To show advertising, where a game contains ads (see Advertising and tracking).
- To answer support requests and communicate with you.
- To send dev updates and playtest invites if you subscribed. You can unsubscribe at any time from any email.
- To detect cheating, fraud and abuse, and to meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK players)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Contract: to provide the Games and deliver purchases you request.
- Legitimate interests: to keep the Games secure, fix problems, measure performance and improve our games, where those interests aren’t outweighed by your rights.
- Consent: for personalised advertising, the mailing list, and any other processing where we ask for your permission. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
6. Third-party services
We use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf or as independent controllers. Each has its own privacy policy.
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Apple / Google | App distribution, in-app purchases, Game Center / Play Games | Transaction records, player ID, display name |
| [e.g. Unity Analytics / Firebase Analytics] | Gameplay analytics | Device info, player ID, gameplay events |
| [e.g. Firebase Crashlytics] | Crash reporting | Device info, crash logs |
| [e.g. Google AdMob / Unity Ads — only if the game has ads] | Showing and measuring ads | Advertising ID, device info, IP-based location, ad interactions |
| [e.g. Buttondown / Mailchimp] | Mailing list | Email address |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of our players or others, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
7. Advertising and tracking
Some of our games may show ads. Where they do:
- iOS: we ask for permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before using your IDFA. If you decline, you’ll still see ads, but they won’t be personalised using your IDFA. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
- EEA and UK: we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads, and you can change your choice from the game’s settings.
Under some US state laws (such as California’s), letting ad partners use identifiers for personalised advertising may count as “sharing”. You can opt out using the device settings above or by emailing us.
8. Children
Our Games are not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK, or the equivalent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If a game is suitable for younger players, we disable personalised advertising and limit data collection for them.
If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact privacy@pallas.games and we will delete it.
9. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:
- Gameplay and save data: while you keep playing, and deleted after [24] months of inactivity or when you ask us to delete it.
- Analytics and crash data: up to [14] months, then deleted or anonymised.
- Support emails: up to [2] years after the conversation ends.
- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No system is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security, but we’ll notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
11. International transfers
We and our providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where we transfer personal information out of the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- withdraw consent at any time;
- opt out of personalised advertising or the “sharing” of personal information;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To make a request, email privacy@pallas.games with your player ID (found in the game’s settings screen). We’ll respond within 30 days, and we won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights.
13. Deleting your data
You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time, even if you’ve already uninstalled the game.
- In the game: open Settings → [Account] → Delete my data. [Remove this step if your games don’t have an in-game option.]
- By email: send a request to privacy@pallas.games with the subject “Data deletion request”, the name of the game, and your player ID if you have it.
What gets deleted: your player profile, save data, gameplay history, and any account and contact details linked to you.
What we keep: purchase records we must retain for tax and accounting law, and data that has been fully anonymised so it can no longer identify you.
We complete deletion within 30 days of confirming your request. Data held by Apple or Google (such as your purchase history in their stores) is managed through your Apple or Google account.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our games change. We’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top, and if the changes are significant we’ll tell you in the game or by email before they take effect.
